Frank Chuang

Frank Chuang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Information Systems at National Chengchi University (NCCU), Taiwan. He received his PhD from University College London (UCL), where his research focused on sustainability, governance, and computational modeling. He subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Alan Turing Institute, the United Kingdom's national institute for data science and artificial intelligence.

Frank directs the Future Systems Lab (FSL; 未來系統實驗室), an interdisciplinary research group dedicated to understanding and designing digital institutions for sustainability. The lab integrates artificial intelligence, blockchain, and computational social science to study the governance and evolution of digital institutions. Through interdisciplinary research, it seeks to understand how technology and institutional design shape governance, incentives, and collective action to address complex business and societal challenges. It is also known as the Quantum Pepe Lab (QuPepe Lab; 量子佩佩實驗室), reflecting the lab's culture of scientific curiosity, playful creativity, and a commitment to a more sustainable future.

Frank currently supervises and co-supervises ten graduate researchers. The lab welcomes curious and motivated students who enjoy questioning conventional wisdom, embracing interdisciplinary thinking, and tackling complex real-world challenges through rigorous, data-driven research.
